At the conclusion of an interview (that you thought was a slam dunk) here are some common little white lies that you just might hear…when the interviewer doesn’t have the guts to…….basically tell you that the job isn’t yours:
- “I apologize for the five minute interview, we’ll be back in touch”
- “Hmmmm, I’ll have to discuss this with my boss and he/she is out of town, we’ll be back in touch.”
- “You’re the first person that we have interviewed, I’m not sure if we are going to fill this position and so we’ll be back in touch.”
- “We are not in a rush to hire so we’ll be back in touch.”
- “We are HR and we do the initial screening, so we’ll be back in touch”
- “We have an internal candidate that just surfaced this morning,so we’ll be back in touch”
- “There may be a hiring freeze we just heard about,so we’ll be back in touch”
