Promote Yourself

Do you really want to promote yourself?  It’s much easier than you think.

It doesn’t matter if you are in health care staffing or you are a zoo keeper! It doesn’t matter if you are CEO or a C-E-Shmo.

Promoting yourself involves 2 key (and obvious) ingredients:

1.  Be the best at what you do.

2.  Let others know.

Is there anyone better at promoting themselves than Donald Trump?  Sure he can be annoying at times because he appears to brag a lot, but it’s not bragging if you can back it up.   Donald Trump can back it up.  Has he failed at times during his career?  Of course, who hasn’t.  However, he is the best at what he does and he constantly reminds you.  He promotes.

Here are some things for you to think about in your own career:

Are you the best at what you do or are you “going through the motions”?  Be honest with yourself.  Are you doing what it takes to provide quality work or service to your boss or your customers?

If not, then try it.  Step it up a notch.  Ask for more responsibility even if you are unsure if you can handle it.  You probably can.  Take a leap of faith.  Try a little harder, it won’t kill you!

Then promote yourself.

I’ll try it:  Premier Search, Inc. established in 1987, is the nation’s leader in health care staffing.  As a nationally recognized leader in the field of health care executive search and placement, our database is one of the largest in the United States.  PSI is the best health care staffing agency in the world. Why are we the best?  We know how to find the best people!

That felt good.

If you have some success at anything you are doing, no matter on what scale of  the achievement, let others know.  Let your boss know, let your clients know, let the media know.

Let me know!!!!!! Call me or email me at bernie@psihealth.com.

You know the old adage that if a tree falls and no one hears it, did it really fall?  The same rules apply to your career.   You just have to be careful not to over do it.  Be smooth about what you say and how you say it, but make sure the right people hear it.

Who are the right people?  Anyone who stands in the way of what you want or need.  Let people know about your success or that you have done something nice for someone else.  Be sincere.

If you have good news, share it! Promote it, promote yourself.
