Many people refer to nursing homes as skilled nursing facilities (or SNFs), convalescent hospitals, care centers, rehabilitation centers, etc. The bottom line is that nursing homes are places that we place Mom and Dad or other loved ones when they (or we) are n0t able to provide the kind of care that they deserve.
The easiest way to fight against job fatigue is to recognize it in ourselves.
To become more self-aware. All of us face days when we “just do not haveit”, when our timing is off, our personal lives need our attention and most commonly perhaps we have been pushing ourselves too hard. We get tired.
The next time you receive a phone call from a recruiter, do yourself a favor and listen.
Even if you have not been thinking about making a job change.
Why?
Because most of us that are employed should be keeping our eyes and open for good opportunities. When opportunity knocks, shouldn’t you at least….listen?
As a recruiter, sometimes when a candidate is rejected from a job consideration, I am asked- “what could I done differently?”
My response is always NOTHING. Don’t we all want to be accepted for who we are? You can not fake who you are and why would you want to?
A successful placement is when our client- the hiring employer- makes an offer to a candidate (that we present) and the offer is accepted with a start date provided.
In the end result, when a recruiter’s candidate is placed then it might be inferred that a recruiter has assisted someone in finding a job. However that wasn’t the intent.
In fact, if a candidate presented to an employer is not placed, then the search continues to fill the position, but not to help that same candidate find another job.
Professional recruiters are trained experts in the search process and all the nuances involved in human behavior. Years ago, recruiters were known as counselors.
The good news is that I am expanding my health care recruitment business to ad two Executive Recruiters to my staff. Through the years I have rarely run an advertisement on any job but I was in the mood to experiment.
